Miyeon Song, Ph.D.

Miyeon Song is an assistant professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University - Newark. Prior to joining the Rutgers faculty, she was an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina and a visiting research scholar at American University. She earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, where she concentrated on public administration and policy. 


Miyeon is broadly interested in topics in public management, organizational theory, performance assessment, democratic governance, and health policy & management. Her current research focuses primarily on public management and policy implementation with a particular emphasis on issues of quality and equity in public service provision.


She was awarded the Public Management Research Association’s Best Dissertation Award and the American Political Science Association’s Herbert Kaufman Best Paper Award. Her work has been published in both public administration and political science journals including the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Review of Public Administration, International Public Management Journal, and Public Management Review among others.
